Last year one of the girls in our care at Alpha House had the very real disappointment of going to Birmingham, Alabama for an operation to straighten her spine only to discover in the pre operation tests that she had a potentially serious neurological problem in addition to the scoliosis. The unpredictable medical costs of up to $200,000 meant that neither Hope Now nor the sponsors, Covenant Presbyterian Church, could take the risk. Bravely, Myroslava returned home to wait for a miracle.
Partners will be thrilled to know that Myroslava will be travelling to the United States on the 8th June to have both operations at the Birmingham Children's Hospital, pro bono. (18th June neurological and 25th July scoliosis) The church will pay the cost of her flight and incidental expenses and Hope Now will be responsible for only the cost of sending Inna Sinkevych in the very special role of interpreter and caregiver.
Vitali, from Svinegorodka Internat will also travel to Birmingham on the same day to get a diagnosis and
possible treatment (11th June) for a serious urological condition.
If anyone would like to have a financial share in the Hope Now share of the costs, please send your donations to the Medical Fund.
Please pray for a happy outcome for both children.
