Searching for a sponsor for work with children from Shpola internat
Dear Jon, you know that for a long time with the help of Hope Now my friends and I work and share the Gospel in Shpola internat. It is good to see that God provided us with some fruit, for example Pasha Zaritsky, Ivan Makarov and Alexander (Sasha) Mikhadyuk became Christians (from Cornah House for boys). This year I filled in all the necessary documents to take care of two boys and take them home for weekends and holidays. I’ve chosen these two boys as they attended our Bible classes when we were visiting the internat. Kolya repented this Christmas, Sasha is a little bit younger and still has many questions. After I started to take Kolya and Sasha home I was able see
a real difference in their behaviour, and in their classmates and teachers too (they started to pray and to study the Bible with other children from the internat). This practice is very good as even living in the orphanage children may see a different way of living, attend church and study the Bible in a Christian family, learn to cook and find good friends. Besides this they go to all the evangelistic projects with our team and learn what it means to follow Jesus.
I would like to continue this work and it can be more effective with your help (our government does not give financial support for this kind of care). The needed financial support is 50 Pounds a month for one child.
Dear Jon, it is very important for when these children after weekends go back to the internat others may see the difference and ask to bring them the Bible or to take them to church. It is a good opportunity to take them out of that atmosphere of a smoky orphanage.
There are many girls in that orphanage who smoke and do not see there the example of modesty. When we visit the internat we have only two hours, but when we take them home we live together for 2 days or more and it is much more effective to be influencial. Is it at all possible that you can find someone to help us in this work?
