Dear Mr.Vic
I want to thank you for your kindness.
I would also like to ask for your prayers about my safety. Last Sunday, I was walking a friend to the taxi because she had come to visit me and were attacked by a man with a gun on broad daylight by the main road where she was supposed to take her taxi. The man demeaned our phones and money, he said 'give your phones and money, else I will shoot you' he showed us his gun. I only had a R4.50 in my pocket and was not carrying my phone. I offered it to him and he said he didn't want coins. My friend had her phone with her and it was her first time to visit me in that place. He took her phone a left. She was afraid about how I was going to go back home, I told her I had nothing on me and that the worst her could do is shoot me, I think he lives in the area and had waited for us from the time I went to fetch her.
I was traumatized when I got home, it was not a good time for that incident because I had to read for a test. I still feel traumatized until now and I get flashbacks at night when I sleep. I'm planning to see a counselor this week.
I thank God that I was not hurt physically and that my friend managed to hide her taxi money in her bra before we left my place. I try to ask the male students from UCT who stay at YMCA to walk me to the Main road from now on but they are not always available. I'm taking a taxi from the Athlone station after school to get home, it's about 30-35 minutes walking to get where I stay. I'm starting my finally exams this month on the 28.
Thank you once again for always responding positively. Aunty Margaret told the news that you are willing to assist me next year with my living costs.
May God continue to bless you always.
