“I love the children so much and the way they have responded to me has been amazing.”
“We hadn’t experienced anything like Kompas Park before, but it was a great first time.”
“This has been one of the best weeks I’ve ever had. I’ve really loved being here….”
This is what some of last summer’s volunteers said about their time helping at Kompas Park, the superb facility established and developed by Hope Now. Everyone who came was richly blessed as they served alongside Ukrainian Christians to give children, teenagers, widows and widowers ‘a week to remember’ at Kompas Park.
Volunteers are needed again for the Kompas Park 2011 Summer Programme. We have opportunities for individuals, church groups and families from May through into September.
In May we need helpers to prepare Kompas Park for the season, and through the summer adults and young people to help run camps. Children’s Camps, English Teaching Camps, Football Camp and Widows/Widowers Camps are all planned for 2011.
Volunteering at Kompas Park is a great experience and you are making a very real difference in the lives of our campers – young and old. It doesn’t matter if you have never been on mission before and there is no upper age limit.
Maybe your church Youth Group is looking to be involved in mission. Kompas Park is a great place for young people to use
their energies and talents in serving at one of our children’s camps. Or perhaps you have thought about overseas mission, but never quite got around to it. Well, Kompas Park is a perfect place to come. We make sure you are fully briefed before you travel and are on site to help you integrate easily with the friendly Ukrainian team.
As a first step, email us for more information, or call Jon Budgell at the Southampton office, to find out how you can apply to be part of Kompas Park 2011.

Walk through any village in the Ukrainian countryside and you will see little single storey houses each with a bucket and rope well for a water supply and surrounded by vegetable garden.
Last summer I spent a week at Kompas Park on one of the children's
summer camps. I'd like to share with you three instances which shaped
my memories and challenged my expectations.
Plans are well underway for summer 2010 at Kompas Park
Imagine you are nine years old and live in a cramped apartment in a
crumbling tower block in the poorest part of the city. You long to be
somewhere where you can run outside, play games, go for picnics and
swim.
