A Student’s Plea…

  Alla Ustenko
I was born on February 2, 1992 into a big Christian family with 5 children.  Since my birth, our family has been going to church in the village of Prydniprovsk, where my father serves as a pastor. My sisters and I sing there and lead Sunday school classes.

My favorite subjects in high school were English, biology, and chemistry. Since I was a child, I have been dreaming and praying to obtain a higher education degree to become an ecologist, because the ecological situation in Ukraine leaves much to be desired and I want to help improve this.

God blessed me so much in 2009 when I was enrolled in the ecology department of the Cherkassy National University.  I thank God for that, but it costs about $2,000 per year plus transport expenses and books. That is too high a cost for our not very wealthy family to provide. That’s why I have asked Hope Now to help me with financial support. Without such help, I cannot continue my studies to fulfill my dream to become an ecologist.  Of course, it would be wonderful if all the fees were covered but even half would make all the difference in the world to me.

Hope Now receives many letters like this every month, from young struggling Christian students.  Gifts to our general mission fund support over 90 currently enrolled university and college students in Ukraine, who without our support would not be able to work towards their higher education degree.  Thank you for walking alongside these young people.
