Many patients seek medical opinions from UK health professionals visiting Ukraine with Hope Now and ask for support to obtain treatment. Where financial help can secure a real and lasting benefit patient care has been funded mostly for treatment in Ukraine but occasionally abroad in UK or USA. Examples include the treatment in Ukraine of kidney failure, leukaemia and cancer in children, Pnelketonuria, cleft lip and palate, TB and many other diseases. A teenager with kyphoscoliosis was treated in USA and another with a bone cyst in UK. Hope Now has regularly provided medicines for the Rescue Shelter, the House of Babies and Orphanages throughout the Cherkassy Region. Through a programme of providing treatment alarms 40 children have been treated for bedwetting. We have provided reading glasses for many, mostly older, people and over 100 deaf people have received reconditioned hearing aids. Through teams of health professionals attending summer camps many people have had health checks and treatment for minor ailments. Over 400 people received dental treatment through the commissioning of a Hope Now Mobile Dental Clinic staffed by British volunteer dentists.
In 2002 Hope Now took out a fully equipped modern mobile Dental surgery to provide dental care in villages, orphanages, prisons and other places where treatment is unavailable.
