A Note from Heather

Heather (L) and Hope Now staff ten years ago
Thank you for all your prayers and messages of encouragement over the last few months.

Here is a brief update, for those who don't know -
I started to get headaches and dizziness early last year, as well as numbness in my mouth, lip and chin. I had various scans followed by a Lumbar Puncture, which were all inconclusive. The day after the Lumbar Puncture I was very dizzy and sick and was admitted to the hospital for two weeks. The doctors decided there could be disease in the lining of the brain, so I had five doses of radiotherapy treatment over five consecutive days.

My medication now includes steroids, which weaken the muscles, and soon after coming out of the hospital I was unable to walk very far, and I was unable to climb stairs. I was therefore bedridden from June until September, which was when we were able to get a stair lift installed at home.

John's employer (Twinings) allowed him to take four months sick leave to look after me. Our daughter, Heidi, gave up her job and is now my official carer giver. I am now registered as a disabled person.  (For those of you who know Heidi, you will be pleased to know that she is now engaged to Chris!)

I still get some dizziness and have had several falls.  Please pray for complete healing and especially for restoration of the muscles so that I can walk and have a better quality of life.

God bless,

Heather

Looking Forward to Graduation

Greetings to you dear brothers and sisters, and peace be to you.
God has blessed me with a ministry in a Christian church called "Calvary". I am an administrator of the church. As a part of my job, I often visit city administrators, governor's committees and meet with secular people.
