In our October newsletter, we pictured Baptist Minister Tony Kinnersley who had been volunteering his help in Hope Now’s Southampton office. Tony had agreed to go on a sponsored “fundraiser diet” and set himself a goal of losing 3 stone (about 42 lbs.) by the end of November. Any funds received would go towards the Children’s Camps at Kompas Park. We are pleased to announce that by January 11th, Tony has lost an incredible 4 stone (about 60 lbs)! So far over $ 750 has been sent in – so you pledged money to encourage Tony please your send your pledge in to the Atlanta office by the end of this month.
Your prayerful support for Tony has been answered in another way too. Tony has been called to minister at Pinchbeck Baptist Church in Lincolnshire, England, and he will take up this new post in February.
The authorities in Prison 62 have turned to Hope Now for help. Nine
years ago when Hope Now built a church inside the prison it included,
to the rear of the building, an education wing.
Under Communism, it was not unusual for Ukrainian believers to baptize new converts under the cover of darkness; even in the winter going to such extremes as cutting a hole in the ice.
