Greetings to you dear brothers and sisters, and peace be to you.
God has blessed me with a ministry in a Christian church called "Calvary". I am an administrator of the church. As a part of my job, I often visit city administrators, governor's committees and meet with secular people. When they learn I am a minister of the church, they ask questions about creation, salvation and the ministry of Jesus Christ. Most of the people don't know the truth. They don't know God's love and God's mercy. They say they've done wrong so much, that they can't be forgiven - but those are the thoughts of devil.
I preach sometimes in my church, read the Word of God, pray and ask God for revelations. One thing He revealed is that I have to go and bring good news to people and that I need to study and to teach others. The Word of God tells about the Great Commission: "Therefore go, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, so, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.'' (Mt.28:19,20)
I thank God for the Hope Now mission in Cherkasy under the direction of a wise man in Christ, Vic Jackopson. Thanks to him, a Bible school for pastors and church leaders was started. We live in the world where money is of great significance, unfortunately. Brothers and sisters donate money to support missions, conferences, to print Bibles and to organize children and youth camps. And the Word of God and the Holy Spirit touch many hearts and they bow down to repent in their sins, accept God and Jesus Christ into their hearts. Praise be to God for brother David Reddaway, who supports and leads the Bible School. Our study comes to an end, but 2,5 years has given us so much. We overviewed the Bible, spiritual life, church life, sermons, principles and methods of teaching, Christian history, mission and apprenticeship.
I want to express a special thank you to our teachers and spiritual mentors: Vladimir Kuzin, Vadim Kurat, Sergei Geize and Vasyl Ustenko. Those are God's people, pastors of the churches. They not only taught us the Bible doctrines, but shared their own experience of work on God's field. Special thanks also to our administrator, Valentina Kurat. She unites us, creates a family atmosphere and builds tight relationships between the teachers and the students. We were provided with all the books and literature we needed. Besides spiritual food, we had nice food for our bodies. We express our thanks to the kitchen workers.
May God bless you in your work and ministry to the Lord. You do what pleases God.
You have no doubt seen the news that Viktor Yanukovych was victorious
over Yulia Tymoshenko in the Ukrainian presidential election in Feb.
The former president, Viktor Yushchenko was battered in the first round
with only 5% of the popular vote.
You made a difference! It was summer of 1994, and I had just completed
my first year of studies at Bath University. I forget what I studied.
And that was the problem.
Dear Hope Now, Thank you very much for hosting the Fresh Start Summer Program at
Kompas Park. Your generosity enabled us to organize many summer
activities for 75 orphans, in a continuation of your Fresh Start for
Children Education Program.
Hope Now cottage homes are scattered throughout the Cherkassy region.
Over the next three months we shall eavesdrop on one of these families
in Ruska Poliana.
