Girls for sale

Who knows what might have happened to them if their mother had been successful in selling them.  At age 15 she gave birth to Alina and not two years later gave birth to Yulia.

The third daughter, she did manage to sell and probably the fourth as well. Her alcoholic addiction meant that Alina and Yulia were in constant danger of being sold to any stranger who would have them.

Fortunately, the children were taken from her and placed in the Rescue Shelter.  The children were so used to lice, that they could catch them with their fingers. Their matted hair was shaved off, followed by emergency surgery to rid them of the constant state of tonsillitis.

The Director of the Rescue Shelter did not want the girls to go to an orphanage, so she kept them for 6 months in the hope of finding a family for them to live with.

At last they came to the home of Pastor Anatolii and Natasha Skripnikov, where they have been for some time, but without sponsors. The foster parents already had their own two children along with taking in Anya and Andrii (featured on page 1-2) They have now taken in another two children, Dasha and Dennis, who will be featured next month.

  A happy family

Both girls took quite a while to settle in but are now very happy. They study well at school where Yulia loves to study English. She would very much like to have a sponsor who will encourage her by writing to her.  If you would like to help these Hope Now foster children or others like them, please contact us.
