In 2001, I was sentenced to 13 years in Prison ¹ 26 in Zhovti Vody. There, I met a man, who differed from all the convicted. I learned from him about the Bible and Jesus Christ. However, my path to be born again took about 18 months. In 2003, I made a covenant with the Lord through water baptism and within a month was transferred to Cherkassy prison 62. There, in “Freedom” church I was learning God’s wisdom for 7 years.
Last year, I was released from prison, three years earlier than expected and went to live with my mother who is now 79 years old. In July, I married Lyuda, whom I had known since 2005.
Where we live is a small town, but we found and joined there an Evangelical Church. There are several small groups of Christian women in the local villages, but sadly, no men. There is one church with 12 sisters, where a minister comes just once a month with the Lord’s Supper. Some elderly sisters cannot come to church, because there are no local buses. I go to visit them myself and preach in the church when I am able but I too have no transport and with a family income of $400 a month, such is a mere dream. Is it right to tell you that, for $1,800 I can buy an old car, good enough to get me to the villages and back to Prison 62 and Prison 26, where I also go to minister to the brothers. I am under such a compulsion from God.
My wife and I also want to be used by God to provide a home for orphans and homeless children. Will you be so bold as to pray with us, that soon, God will provide a place where we can serve God in such a way? We are not ashamed to share such a need with you, because we know your heart for the gospel and the poor and needy. We are ready.
